Urbana 06'

Hurray!!!
With all the upcoming stress... I had set myself a route to look forward to... URBANA here I come!
Work hard... Study hard... Strive hard through the semester... URBANA is waitng down the road.
Yeah most of you might be thinking what the
!@#$ I am talking about.
Right here Right now I am gonna tell you what URBANA 06' is
I am filled with fascinations ... bear with my odd writting.
Urbana is an exciting meeting for students from all over the world. As a Christian international student, there is a special track for us. Lethbridge might be planning to send a bus if enough students sign up- Canadians and internationals. Thus, we can save on the airfare. As I was told, this will be a very meaningful conference.
I did struggled a couple of times before making the decision. Though I need to sacrifice a couple of trips but juz for URBANA 06' anything is worth it!
I woke up early this morning and registered myself. Wanna thank Anna for helping me to search for my accomodation. I was silly enough to search the hotels from Yahoo! Hah... Well, everything is done and I am glad to be the early bird having the opportunity to enjoy $75 USD off my trip.

Other than that, I heard that IVCF is doing some fund raising to lower the cost.
Can't wait to meet & share experiences of others everywhere around the world.
I would be staying at the: Millennium
200 South 4th St. St. Louis, MO 63102

Urbana 06' starts from 27th of December 06 & ends at 31st December 06'.
There are several tracks open to us. I choose the international student track.
Here I attach the site where you can view a "Flash" version of the video

Playing Fair

I am not done telling my summer stories.. well, Gotta spend sometime digging out the special moments I had once spent with all my beloved buddies. Luv to pin each and every details down, so I am not going to talk about it now...
Today I just wanna share my experience being with kids at Sunday school.
Yesterday, I was helping out with children activities in church.
Though I missed a really well done drama acted out during the service but I am lucky enough to have Pat telling me the entire story and there I have a crystal clear picture of the whole happenings. Credit goes to Pat, Thanks! It was the first time assisting and dealing with 10 kids. I was nervous and worried that I can't manage them. A bundle of WHAT IF Questions blow into my thoughts.
Thank God! They are so adorable and I feel at ease being with all these kids.
The past sleepless weeks drove me into insanity. Again, with the upcoming term test along with a full load of concerns regarding my future career and the current situation decrease my dopamine level. Things are getting quick in happening but slow in progressing. My neurotransmitters wrinkle up into knots.
Feel really fortunate and blessed in time like this... GOd is merciful to have me surrounded by little angles.
Here comes a mischievous little guy named Ethen. He calls himself Bob.. the Sponge Bob...
While I was introducing myself to the rest of the class, he named me BOB too!
So this turned outo to be 2 BOBs in the class. He will take the BOB #1 and I will be the #2.
The teacher assigned some craft work and I have lots of fun with them. Later, we did the Hang Man Word Puzzle. Yeah ... not to deny, there is a cocktail of chemical that runs in today's generation. These kids are smart!
On my way to the bus station, I took some pictures. Used to do this with my buddies and there I started to recall the happy moments of photo shot with Bernice, Suzanne, Teng , Mary, and Amelia.
GUyz... the pic ain't that great without a subject to focus on. Zanne you need to help me out to fill in the blank. Remember? I used to help taking shots of you posing on the ground near the church.
Anyway I switched my focus towards animals now... taking animal behavior this semester hoping I can get something out of it.

Summer 06'

Whoo Hoo... Phoebe on the run!

Hah! have not been blogging for months. Lots of happenings going on.
Not knowing where to start.
I guess I shall briefly talk about my summer vacation.

Flashback 1 :)
I had a 5 days breakaway to Vancouver in the middle of my summer session I .
I was taking a sociology course about mass media along with Psychology of Disability: Lifespan Perspective.
Consumed plenty of knowledge though I was bored with the discussion going on in Mass Media's class.
Sociology of Mass Media is mainly about the media history of Canada throughout the centuries.
Duhhh I am not a fan of history and never will be... don't even know my own country's story; thus, don't even mention about Canadian history. HIS........story! His........ Story! > history! Now back to my story :)
Hmm what to say about Vancouver? Oh yes! Wanna share a very kinna ... actually not really embarassing moment we had in Vancouver. Bernice and I were both bz with our own junk before departing for the trip to Vancouver. Hence, we were in GET SET GO mood to leave Lethbridge. Not preparing anything... juz our back pack and some clothings. Poped on the bus after Bernice's Grad + Farewell party. Thankx to Akaid for sending us off. Enjoyed the 24++ hours of ride to Vancouver as we are so blessed to have wonderful sceneries as our company. Annoucement made by the driver: "We are here at the Vancouver Station... Thankyou for choosing Greyhound Canada Blah Blah blah..." Guess what? We had forgot to bring along the most important piece of info. We left our Hostel's Add and contact behind only know the rough location around downtown area. It was raining cats and dogs that evening. It took us more than an hour to walk all the way from Greyhound station to the hostel not with an umbrella shaded. Both of us were moistured with rain drops. Thank God for being so merciful ... I had never seen such heavy down pour spending my years staying in Lethbridge. We finally reached our destinition ... HI HOSTEL INTERNATIONAL. The clock struck 30 past 1am. We headed directly to the laundry room right after registering ourselves. Bernice and I dragged our baggage and bags together with tones of water supply dripping along the elevator to our room. Haha it is time to cut off some details... I will post more pics of us in Vancouver below. Phew! What an adventure.
Overall I had fun being with my best buddy throughout the days in Vancouver.

Flashback 2 :)

Summer Session I ended. Bz packing the day before I left for Taiwan. Imagine dragging 2 big piece of baggages from Lethbridge to Calgary> Vancouver> Taiwan & final stop Malaysia. Thank you so much our beloved Pat! Pat offered to drive us and our ABCD I mean the heavy loads of baggages to greyhound station. Tears & Laughters flooded Bernice's emotion as she will be back in Malaysia for good. We 1st went to the airport with aunty Lily, Kim &n Gareth to meet up with uncle Jordan as he jz arrived on the day we left for Calgary. Pat, Peter and Yan send us off and with mixed feelings, Bernice remained silence for a moment. I called Anna... Bernice and her had a good little conversation before kissing Lethbridge goodbye. Bernice and I spend a night in Calgary with a bunch of interesting people ermm... forgot their names ... Alzheimers' Effect haha.. Both Bernice and I were so touch once we stepped into the house allowing the fragrance of CURRY LAKSA ventures through our 5 senses. We spent 3 quarters of the night chatting away in a cozy basement. Everthing seems to be so coincident. One of them are actually from UOL, a graduate with a degree of psychology and the other is planning to write a book about child developement. They have intelligent kids at home and one of them look similar to Daniel, my nephew. I admire their wisdom and learnt that bearing a child is not a task but an essential need for a women. Bernice and I did a little window shopping & I had my new haircut before we left Calgary.

Flashback 3 :)

I am so miserable even till now over the issue of the missing pics taken from Calgary to Taiwan. There was at least 800 pics in it but somehow I juz can't manage to retrieve the file. Still the capacity of the card showed that it is loaded. I wanna apologise to Bernice, Louise, Vincent, Gail and Mary. The pics had all evaporated. Hopefully Teng can do something about it. Thankx Teng! It was a 10 days trip in Taiwan. We had some frustrations going on but overall it is fun. Bernice and I visited Louise, Vincent, Gail and Mary. We spent most of the time in Taipei. Louise and Vincent drove us around Tai Zhong for 3 days. We went to 日月潭 (Sun & Moon Lake), 集集車站: 是台灣歷史最悠久的火車站, 埔里酒廠, 八卦山 ... etc... 特產 :太陽餅、鳳梨酥、一心豆干 等等.. In Taipei, we visited, 西門町, 五分埔, 中正紀念堂, 陽明山, 小油坑, 士林夜市, 七张, 桃園, 林口, 淡水, 漁人碼頭, 中山, 大排檔小吃: 蚵仔煎 is what I had most in Taiwan... 蚵 is served generously and you can imagine having a mouth full of big, fluffy, juicy piece of 蚵melting away. I can never forget the taste of it. Siliva keeps piling up now. Enough of the Oyster stuff... Let's look at some pictures... I grabbed them from the net not the originals... :(

CIS BETUL! I can't manage to load any pics ... check the pics out later. Jz enjoy the wordings haha... don't strain your eyes too much!
